Series consists of computer printouts containing the only known source of the original data used to compile several manpower studies conducted in the Keewatin District and the rest of the Northwest Territories and Yukon territories from 1969 to 1971. There are two publications the Department generated from this data collection. They are entitled "Summary of the Statistical Data from DIAND, Northern Manpower Survey Program in the Yukon and Northwest Territories, 1969-1971," and the earlier study, "Report on the Keewatin Manpower Survey, June 1969". This was the first comprehensive employment study undertaken in the North and its findings had a significant bearing on policy decisions, particularly in the areas of education, vocational training and job retraining. The work was done by the Economic Staff Group of DIAND. (NO PERMANENT VOLUMES IN THIS SERIES)
