Series consists of two studies (149 pages) prepared by the Directorate of Air Development, Department of Reconstruction and Supply. The first, entitled "Development of Commercial Air Service in Canada, 1919-1944", includes detailed statistical and financial statements of the numerous air transport companies incorporated in Canada as well as a general history of civil aviation in Canada, including commercial carriers, transport routes in Canada and domestic air mail services.

The second study is a survey of Canadian travel prepared by J.C. Lessard of the Directorate of Air Development for both the Directorate and the Air Transport Board. It includes studies and statistics on Canadian economic characteristics, transportation services, hotel registrations, business travel, business functions, employment conditions, tourist attractions and airline traffic data.
