The fonds consists of textual records and photographs of Katharine Cronyn Harley which primarily document her relationship with her brother Hume Cronyn and his wife Jessica Tandy, and their acting careers on stage and in film and television. It holds personal correspondence of Katharine Cronyn Harley, including letters from Hume Cronyn; correspondence between their uncle Samuel V. Blake and A. Percy Saunders; Cronyn family papers; and clippings and photographs relating to the acting careers of Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy.

Harley, Katharine Cronyn : Katharine Frances Cronyn was born in London, Ontario, the eldest daughter of Hume Blake Cronyn (a businessman and Member of Parliament) and Frances Amelia Labatt, of the brewing company family. She was an elder sister of the celebrated actor Hume Cronyn. She married John R. Harley and raised a family in London. Katharine Cronyn Harley was the first woman elected to the Synod of the Diocese of Huron of the Anglican church, whose first bishop had been her great-grandfather Benjamin Cronyn. In recognition of her work on behalf of the mentally retarded, a school in London was named in her honour in 1966.
