The Bell Telephone Company of Canada serves a territory that includes most of the provinces of Ontario and Quebec and in which is located approximately 62% of the population of Canada. In 1952 alone, construction forces building new telephone lines in this area spent som $28 million. Any new or improved method which would reduce this operational cost, even by a small percentage, would result in a considerable saving of money. This film shows that almost all jobs can be done by a two man line gang and suggests that reducing crews to two would cut costs. Equipment (diggers, drills, etc), vehicles (ie. CLM, LC 102, half-ton pick-up), and two man crews at work (raising pole, erecting terminals, stringing lines, plowing cable, etc) are shown. <28mn>
