Fonds consists of photographs by Robert Wilson Anderson depicting Pierre Elliot Trudeau's homecoming with sons Sacha and Justin; portrait of Justin Trudeau; portrait of Jim and daughter Kathy; a wedding photographer at work; and contestants from the Miss Nude World contest. Also included in fonds is a photographic chronicle of the 1979 federal election campaign of Liberal leader Pierre E. Trudeau. Photographer Robert W. Anderson followed the Prime Minister for two months, from the nomination meetings of early April to Election Night on 22 May. The result is a photographic journal documenting visits, cross-country speeches, rallies, receptions, interviews and "main-streeting" of Trudeau for the federal election campaign. The photos demonstrate Trudeau's progress across Canada between airports, bus rides and hotel rooms, to industrial sites, shopping malls, civic centres, briefings, dinners, meetings, rallies, and talk-shows.

Audio visual material consists of audio recordings documenting photographer Robert W. Anderson's impressions of Prime Minister Trudeau's unsuccessful general election campaign of 1979, a complementary component to the aforementioned photographs. The recordings include speeches by Trudeau in Toronto, Quebec, British Columbia, and the Atlantic provinces.

Fonds also includes artistic material consisting of two Christmas cards, one published by The Bilken Co., Chicago, entitled "I am the God of Darkness"; and the second entitled "Someone is going to have a Merray Christman".(sic)

General note:

Artistic material acquired from Mrs. Stanley Smith of Carp, Ont. in 1966. Photographic material acquired from Robert Wilson Anderson between 1979 and 1981. Copies of the sound recordings were received in 1979 from Robert Anderson and he later donated the originals in 1995.
