Collection consists of autographed photographs of four Governors General and their wives, collected by Hubert Awcock. The following individuals are documented: Julian Hedworth George, 1st Viscount Byng of Vimy (1862-1935), Governor General, 1921-1926; Evelyn Byng, wife of Byng of Vimy; Freeman Freeman-Thomas, 1st Marquess of Willingdon (1866-1941), Governor General, 1926-1931; Marie Willingdon, wife of Marquess of Willingdon; Vere Brabozon Ponsonby, 9th Earl of Bessborough (1880-1956), Governor General, 1931-1935; Yvette Bessborough, wife of the Earl of Bessborough; John Buchan, 1st Baron Tweedsmuir (1875-1940), Governor General, 1935-1940; Susan Buchan, wife of 1st Baron of Tweedmuir; Alexander August Frederick William Alfred George Cambridge, Earl of Athlone (1874-1957), Governor General, 1940-1946; Princess Alice, wife of Earl of Athlone.

Photographs were taken by various photographers including: Yousuf Karsh, and J. Rusell and Sons. Also included in this collection are photographs depicting the rear view of the Governor General's residence, grounds and greenhouse, taken by an unknown photographer. All the photographs have been autographed by the Governor Generals and their wives. In addition, both Karsh prints have been autographed by that photographer. The photograph of Governor General Bessborough is from a painting done by Philip Alexius de Laszlo de Lombas (1869-1937), 21 May 1915.
