Series consists of a draft of the Canadian Directory of Parliament prepared by the Publication Division, edited by J.K. Johnson. Included are translations in preparation for a french edition which was not published. The Canadian Dictionary of Parliament was begun in 1964 as a special Centennial project by the staff of the Publications Sector of the Public Archives, under the direction of J. K. Johnson. The research to complete the book, which was published in 1968, took over four years. The book contains brief biographies of more than 3100 men and women who held office in the House of Parliament and Canadian Senate from the inception of the Dominion of Canada.
