Collection consists of three prints of the bookplate of Colonel Andrew Strome Ayers Galloway by artist Gordon MacPherson. Also included are three prints of the bookplate of Jean Caroline Galloway by an unknown artist.

Galloway, Strome, 1915- : Colonel Andrew Strome Ayers Carmichael-Galloway, author, heraldist and military historian, was born in Humbolt, Saskatchewan in 1915. At the age of 17, Galloway joined the Canadian Infantry as a career soldier. At the outbreak of World War II, Major Galloway served overseas for five years with The Royal Canadian Regiment in the U.K., Tunisia, Sicily, and N.W. Europe, also taking part in the invasion of Italy in July 1943. He was thereafter promoted to Lieutenant Colonel, then full Colonel of the Regiment, Royal Canadian Regiment, retiring from military service in 1969. Galloway is the co-founder and past President of the "Heraldic Society of Canada", author of many historical works, as well as many articles on heraldry, and associate editor of Esprit de Corps magazine. In addition, Galloway is author of a number of publications including WITH THE IRISH AGAINST ROMMEL: A DIARY OF 1943 (1984), a diary of Colonel Galloway's involvement with the London Irish Rifles in the campaign against Rommel, North Africa, and BRAVELY INTO BATTLE (1988), the autobiography of a Canadian soldier in World War II. Galloway is also Bannerman to the 30th Chief of the Clan Carmichaeal. In the year 2000 Galloway celebrated his 85th birthday. Galloway, Colonel Strome.
