This film shows some of the construction and operation of the Cameron Falls hydroelectric plant. An intertitle indicates that the steady developmennt of Port Arthur and Fort Williams has resulted in a greater demand for electricity which the Camenron Falls plant is intended to meet. Shots show the river and shore around the dam and the churning water near the generator. Scenes from various stages in the dam's construction are shown, along with explanatory intertitles. Inside the plant are the generators and high tension equipment; outside, a fishway allows fish to reach their spawning ground. The viewer is shown some of the 750 men employed for the dam's construction as they go to dinner; a chef displays a pan of sea-pie proudly. The children in the area are provided with fresh air and good schooling. The power generated by the dam is conducted to the Twin Cities by lines which must be inspected regularly; a series of shots shows a man on horseback doing this. The current reaches Port Arthur where it is distributed via a pumping house and transformenr station to the factories which line the shore. <9mn 48s>
