The fonds consists of photographs and textual records of Rev. Cyril H. Bauer's trip to the Northwest Territories to observe the Arctic re-supply mission of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). The records document Resolute Bay and other communities in the Arctic, as well as aircraft and personnel of the RCAF engaged in re-supply flights to the Northwest Territories in April 1960. The textual records comprise a brief diary of the itinerary and events of the trip. Photographs by Cyril H. Bauer.

Bauer, Cyril Henry, 1914- : Born in Sydney, Nova Scotia in 1914, Cyril Henry Bauer was the son of Harry Bauer and Katherine Merchant. He was educated at Sydney Academy, St. Francis Xavier (SFX) University (B.A. 1934), the Sulpician Seminary and the Catholic University of America in Washington D.C. After a period as Parish Priest in Cape Breton, Rev. Bauer became a Professor of German at SFX, a position he filled until 1970. He served as Dean of Studies at SFX from 1951 to 1961, as Executive Vice-President from 1963 to 1971, as Vice-President Student Services from 1971 to 1978 and as Awards Officer from 1978 to 1984.
