A head and shoulders portrait of an unidentified Canadian nurse. The painting was commissioned by the War Finance Committee and served as the basis for its Victory Bond poster "Now, more than ever...".. Painting by Alex L. McLaren.
Other material from the National War Finance Committee was offered to Manuscript Division at same time, but it is not known if this material was acquired..
The painting was commissioned by the National War Finance Committee for for its Victory Bond poster "Now, more than ever...". Three different nurses sat for the portrait.
