Kollner, Augustus, 1813-1906 : Augustus Kollner was born 1813 in Dusseldorf and trained in Frankfurt. He emigrated to the United States from Germany in 1839/1940. He was a lithographer, map-maker, and illustrator of books for children and books on horses and sporting life. He also appears to have traveled widely and worked as an itinerant artist.
