Fonds consists of photographs of the National War Memorial, taken in 1931 while it was erected in Hyde Park, London. It was later dismantled and shipped to its permanent location in Ottawa, Ontario. R.J. Burns and his wife appear in one of the photographs, taken by unknown phtographer.

Burns, R. J. (Robert James), 1860-1938 : Born in Glasgow, Scotland on 18 July 1860, Robert James Burns was a barrister at law who rose to become the head of the foreign department at Coutts' Bank. He died in London, England on 31 July, 1938.
