The accession is primarily concerned with the equipment used in a number of grist and flour mills, all but one located in Canada. Ninety-five of the prints are concerend specifically with the mill at Wakefield, Quebec. Also documented are the Hope Mill, Keene, Ont.; the Bowmanville Mill; the Clarendon Mill; and the Egypt Mill, located in Britain.
The Marmora Ironworks are documented in 83 photographs. The remaining photographs deal with a variety of subjects: recovery of Trent River ore cars, 1981; textile mills in the Mississippi, Ont., river valley; ruins of the Cornish Pump House, Stellarton, NS; and the Alexander Sawmill, c 1910, Kazabazua, Quebec.
All of the photographs, save those of the Alexander Sawmill, appear to date from the 1960s to the early 1980s.

The accession contains 44 plans including 10 mylar plans of the Wakefield Mill produced by the National Capital Commission and 3 plans of an unidentified mill. Twenty-seven plans relating to power hammers made by Peter Pilkington Ltd., Bamber Bridge, Lancashire UK and the N.S.K company, 1917-24. Two plans of the ore cars removed from the Trent River, 1980-82.
