Collection search - Native Economic Development Program files from the Eastern Operations Montreal Office [textual record]

This accession consists of NEDP files created in the Eastern Operations Office of DRIE which administered this program until 1990. The records are mostly case files and include proposals and administrative records for projects in Newfoundland and Labrador, Quebec, N.W.T., Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Ontario, and Prince Edward Island. Other files concern policy, co-ordination between Native groups and government departments and committees, projects before the Minister, Community Economic Development (CED) strategies and reports, program review and evaluation, consultant reports, and general correspondence concerning projects.

These files were created, 1983-1990, by the Eastern Operations Montreal Office of DRIE which administered the NEDP (Native Economic Development Program) and were subsequently sent to the Quebec Region Records Centre in Montreal. These records were received by the National Archives from the Montreal Office of Industry Canada in September 1997. Custody of these records was transferred to the National Archives in April 2001.
