General note:

Album Album of artworks, entitled "A Souvenir of Victoria", presented to Princess Louise by several female Victorian artists in 1882 during her tour of western Canada. The album contains photos as well as drawings and watercolours depicting scenes of Victoria and three pressed plant arrangements.. Out of the eighteen pieces of artwork in the album fifteen are signed by the artists. There are several well known artists who participated in the creation of the album such as Sophie Pemberton, May R. Hibben, Emily H. Woods, Rhoda Cridge, Ada Newton, W. Beaven, H.F.L. Wolfenden, Helen Kate Andrew, Florence Newton, and A.C. Richardson..
Location: Rm. 330, A291/01.
Except for photographs on pages 7, 14 & 30 of the album, all other photographs have been retained in Photo's holdings as part of 1964-061..

Custodial history:

The High Commission of Canada in England received the album from Princess Louise and transferred it to External Affairs. The Public Archives of Canada then acquired the album from External Affairs.
