The photograph is a three piece panoramic by W. Charron, cut from three 8 x 10 images and butt joined. On the mount board to which the image was initially attached is printed: [middle] "Bird's Eye View of the E.B. Eddy Company's Paper & Pulp Mills, Saw Mill, Match, Pail and tub Factories, Offices, Indurated Fibre Works, and Sulphite Fibre Mill Hull Canada." [lower left] "The Ten Large Sone and Brick Buildings in the Foreground give a partial view of some of the E.B. Eddy Company's Vast Mills and Factories at Hull, Canada." [lower right] "Other Portions of the E.B. Eddy Company's Works and a View of the Cities of Ottawa and Hull are Shewn in the Distance." It is not known from what building the photographer took the photograph, but the image is taken from above the Eddy buildings, looking toward the southeast. By virtue of the printed mount board, it is evident that the photograph was used for advertising/publicity/gift purposes. On the basis of other images from the area, it appears to have been taken in the period 1895-1899.
