Kates, lawyer and oral historian at the Osgoode Law Society, Toronto, speaks on the history, purposes and legal issues pertaining to the Society's Oral History Program. This sessions' speakers include Richard Lochead, archivist with the National Archives of Canada, who talks about legal issues surrounding the use and dissemination of oral history from a historian's point of view and Jill Jarvis-Tonus, a lawyer specializing in copyright law, who talks about the rights of the creators, users and owners of oral history collections.
