Other than a few files brought forward, the records were created by Scotia Synfuels Limited, after the Project was incorporated as a consortium of energy resource companies in 1987. The records consist of general correspondence, memoranda, reports, meeting minutes, financial statements, invoices, press releases, newspaper clippings, travel arrangements and expenses, briefing and reference material, invitations, receipts, reports, personal notes, and self-memoranda. The records document the scientific, economic, legal, and political activities of SSL. This series was the third record management system used. It was kept and controlled by Gillespie's private secretary, Susan Kerr, and is more structured than the Binder Series or the Project Administration Series. There are five sub-series.
