Fonds consists of oral history interviews recorded in the early 1970s by Jim McLarty of Motion magazine of Canadian actors, directors and producers including Christopher Plummer, Ted Kotcheff, Denys Arcand, Norman Jewison and others about their careers.

Fonds also includes oral history interviews conducted from 1972 to 1978 by Peter Evanchuck of Motion magazine of actors, cameramen, directors, sound engineers, animators and others about their careers in Canadian theatre, television and film. Also included in this fonds are the 1973 proceedings of the Association of Motion Picture Producers and Laboratories of Canada and a 1973 press conference by Liza Minelli about her Oscar for the film Cabaret. Excerpts of these interviews were published in Motion magazine.

A film entitled Platinum, produced and directed by Peter Evanchuck in 1987 is also included in this fonds.
