The new Budd train, The Canadian, with its stainless steel streamline cars makes a promotional run through Pennsylvania. In the station of a large city (Philadephia?) the train is met by Edward G. Budd Jr., President of the Budd Company, and N.R. Crump, Senior Vice President of Canadian Pacific Railways. Celebrities on hand for the event include Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Stern, famous as Mary Kay and Johnny to television audiences, and movie actress Lisa Faraday who is honourary conductor for the trip to Canada. As the train runs through the Pennsylvania countryside, it is filmed by a New York Airways helicopter. The aircraft, a Sikorsky S-55, is seen from the train and there is a shot of a newsreel cameraman with a Bell and Howell Eyemo camera filming from the helicopter. The train, which will start service soon, is hoped to attract many passengers with its scenic dome viewing cars. The train stops in the small town of New Hope, PA where the mayor declares the town Canadian territory for the day. The red ensign Canadian flag is raised by film and television star Wendy Barrie. Scottish pipers play as dignitaries and townsfolk enter a reception hall. <5mn>
