The series consists of files of textual records on the Canadian Players, Expo '67, National Arts Centre, Royal Alexandra Theatre, Stratford Festival, and the Toronto International Festival, as well personal material including contracts and correspondence. Hooker's correspondents include Marigold Charlesworth and Jean Roberts, Desmond Heeley, Kate Searle, Pat Galloway, Nora Polley, Donald Davis, Murray Davis and Douglas Chamberlain. Also included are costume and set designs relating to the production of plays.

Hooker, Tom, 1939-1985 : Tom Hooker (1939-1985) began his career in professional theatre as an actor, then stage manager with the Red Barn Theatre. His career intersected that of Jean Roberts and Marigold Charlesworth throughout the rest of his life, as he went on to stage manage for the Crest Theatre, Canadian Players and Royal Alexandra Theatre, worked at Expo '67 (where he was production stage manager of its automotive stadium), became production stage manager of the National Arts Centre 1973-1978 and then Director of Production at the Stratford Festival. He worked for the Toronto International Festival, 1982-1984, before his death from AIDS in 1985.
