Jasper National Park (Canada) : Jasper Park in the Rocky Mountains was established by the Department of the Interior in 1907 when land was set aside through the area where the proposed Grand Trunk Railway would cross the Rockies at the Yellowhead Pass. J. W. McLaggan, the first acting superintendent, and Colonel S. M. Rogers, the permanent superintendent who was appointed to that post in 1913, were important early administrators.
