Collection consists of an oral history interview by Cassie Brown, author of the book Death on Ice, of Cecil Mouland, survivor of the 1914 sealing disaster in Newfoundland. Mouland talks about the seal hunt in Newfoundland, the disaster of 1914 and his opinions of the key people involved in the disaster and subsequent Court of Inquiry. Collection also consists of a silent newsreel film of 1916 entitled Historic Newfoundland, containing footage of everyday activities of Newfoundlanders and Canadian soldiers embarking for service overseas.
