The fonds consists of the records of the Canadian Association of Rhodes Scholars. It includes correspondence of the secretary treasurer, minutes of the Biennial meetings, drafts of the Association's newsletters, files relating to reunions and anniversary celebrations, directories of members, files of the Canadian Rhodes Scholars Foundation and Scholarship Trust, and publications and data pertaining to the Association's history.

Canadian Association of Rhodes Scholars : The Canadian Association of Rhodes Scholars was founded at a meeting in Montreal in June 1951 at the initiative of Roland Michener, general secretary in Canada of the Rhodes Trust. Its purpose was to represent the interests of Rhodes Scholars in Canada by furthering higher education, advising on the administration of Rhodes Scholarships in Canada, and assisting Rhodes Scholars and promoting social intercourse among them. Clarence S. Campbell presided at the first meeting which drafted and approved the constitution and elected James M. Macdonnell as the first president. The Association is governed by a Board of Directors (originally called the 'Executive') and holds Biennial meetings. The latter have generally coincided with the learned societies conferences. Some of its notable secretary-treasurers have been Clarence S. Campbell (1951-1955), Michael Howarth (1955-1967), Hugh Whitney Morrison (1967-1977), and James A. Gibson (1977-1987).

Aside from the Biennial meetings, the major initiatives of the Association have included participating in the organization of large reunions at Oxford (1953 and 1983) and Washington (1993); the creation of a regular newsletter since 1955 (James A. Gibson was the editor from 1975 to 1994); and the publication of the 'Directory of Rhodes Scholars', generally at three-year intervals. In addition, its members created the Canadian Rhodes Scholars Foundation to provide funding for Oxford graduates to come to Canada to do graduate-level research at Canadian universities.
