Oral history interview of F. C. McClennan of Glengarry County, Ontario, a retired farmer, who talks about his life which was mostly spent in Glengarry. McClennan begins by discussing his Scottish ancestors in the Lancaster area and the McClennan family farm owned by his father. After graduation from the Guelph Agricultural College in 1923, McClennan shortly thereafter left the family farm over a disagreement with his father about changes to the family farm concerning mechanization and specialization. After a series of various jobs in Southern Ontario, McClennan talks about his purchase of the family farm in 1926 and his beginning of a successful career in buying and selling cattle. Other topics in the interview include discussion of the various breeds of cattle, the changes in legislation affecting the cattle business and his cattle deals in Spain and the United States as well as Canada. Hugh MacMillan, an historian, researcher and nephew of McClennan, comments throughout the interview.
