An official Canada Post cached cover enclosed in a blue presentation folder, issued to commemorate 150 years of railway service between Laprairie and St. Jean, Quebec. The cover was presented to all guests boarding a special "Via" train to attend the commemorative ceremonies held at the two locations, on July 19, 1986.. The cover bears a single copy of the 34ý stamp depicting the Rotary Snowplow from the 1986 Canada Day - Science and Technology commemorative series of postage stamps (See: Scott #1099 - issued 27 July 1986) and tied by a C.P.C. LaPrairie philatelic counter hand stamp, dated 19/VII/86. The cachet depicts an 1836 vintage locomotive opposite a 1986 vintage locomotive, both of which surmount the dates 1836 and 1986, separated by a single maple leaf motif..
