Hammock, Virgil, 1938- : Professor Virgil Hammock, a painter, art critic and art historian, obtained his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the San Francisco Art Institute and his Masters of Fine Arts from the University of Indiana. He currently resides in Sackville, New Brunswick, and is a professor in the Department of Fine Arts at Mount Allison University teaching a course entitled Prinicples of Art Criticism. His interests include post secondary art education, art criticism and the effects of technology on the arts. Professor Hammock participates in s wide variety of art organizations such as the New Brunswick Arts Board and the Canadian branch of the International Association of Art Critics. He was the visiting professor for the Bachelor of Fine Arts program at Sir Wilfred Grenfel College and author of the publication entitled, Art at Mount Allison : a history. Various Internet sites.
