Accession consists of textual files from the Manitoba Office of Public Works' Realty Management Services, Architectural Engineering Services and Technical Services Divisions. The textual records include files pertaining to property administration renovations, investigations and building alterations.
These textual records are not classified according to the standard subject block numeric system as exemplified in authority 79/008 which stipulates that files from specific blocks are to be transferred to the National Archives for selective retention. Many of the files appear to relate to mundane activities such as interior decorating and alterations to structures of a very minor nature, and consequently most should not be retained by the National Archives of Canada. However, due to the peculiarity of the file numbering system as well as the fact that there is no finding aid for this material, selection may be complex. Consequently these records have been accessioned according to the original recommendations of the archivist per the concurrence letter.
