Infrared photography of arctic ice conditions, April 1963.. An album of approximately 40 composite images made by infrared photography and by infrared thermal photography of arctic sea and land ice conditions. The reconnaissances were made by DND and the Department of Transport at varying altitudes. Captions describe conditions observed in the photographs, as well as some of the conditions under which the photographs were made..
10 images synthetic aperture radar. SAR (synthetic aperture radar) imagery taken in 1972 of the Montreal and Ottawa areas.. These images were produced in 1972 for the Department of National Defense through a cooperative venture with Goodyear Aerospace Corporation and the USAF. The imagery was taken by USAF RF4C Phantom aircraft at 60,000 feet using Goodyear equipment. The data was recorded on optical film recorder on board, and subsequently processed at Rome Air Force Base using an optical processor. The imagery is generally still classified as those responsible for its declassification are with DoD (US), USAF, and/or Goodyear Aerospace Corporation..
