A stranger buys him two forbidden things: ice cream and a mouth organ. Jacob enjoys music but has been taught that all music except Hutterite hymns is the devil's instrument. He has no inner conflict between his love of music and his inner guilt. In love with Marda, Jacob is caught talking to her and is publicly accused of sin. His punishment is to spend three months in isolation and he is forbidden to marry Marda. He leaves the colony to join the stranger, who actually is his older brother, in a free environment. The devil reads a list of Hutterites damned for hypocrisy, pride and other sins and they are the people who accused Jacob and his brother of sin. <60mn>Language:EnglishNotes:Genre:DRAMADetailed holdings information: -
