This film instructs the viewer in the procedures for producing a successful home garden. One of the first intertitles reads, "A well-planned and carefully tended garden produces its reward in crisp, fresh vegetables." The film begins by showing how to plant seeds in boxes indoors, and then transplant them into larger boxes. A woman is shown preparing the soil for planting by turning it and spreading manure. The viewer is shown how to plant the seeds of different crops; these include peas, beans, potatoes, celery, tomatoes and asparagus. The appropriate care for each of these crops as they grow is also demonstrated. The film uses intertitles followed by shots of people in a garden to illustrate the methods. The final intertitle reads, "No area will yield greater rewards in health and happiness than the garden." The following sequence of shots shows many children happily at work in a garden. <17mn 15s>
