Description:

Shots of the “ice party” leaving by dog sled from Collinson Point to Martin Point; note distance measuring wheel attached to rear of sled. The villagers of Minto Inlet greet the group. Inuit villagers pose for the camera. A high angle shot over jumbled icefields shows men and dogteam snaking among ice mounds and past a beached skin boat. Groups of Eskimos [Inuit] on the icefield. Group of men working an umiak over the ice. Another group chops at an ice-covered cache. Others guide the sled and dogteam over the ice mounds. At Coronation Gulf, Eskimo [Inuit] men and women posing in fur garments. A woman works on a sealskin with an ulu. Close-ups of Copper Eskimo [Inuit] Sequence on a summer camp, with a family dismantling skin tent in preparation for departure. <10mn>

George Hubert Wilkins died in 1958.~4. Actuality footage. Unedited.~5. In 2001, Stuart E. Jenness published "The Motion-Picture Films of G.H. Wilkins - Canadian Arctic Expedition 1913-1916". Detailed film scene descriptions with comments by Stuart Jenness, are on pages 9 to 11, referred to as "Film 3". Blue duo-tang is available in the collection file. He also indicates that "this film contains a mixture of scenes, including ones at Collinson Point, Martin Point, and near Point Barrow, northern Alaska in 1914, at Bernard Harbour, at the Berens Islands in Coronation Gulf, in 1915, and Minto Inlet, Victoria Island in 1916. These last two scenes were listed as Wilkins' Part 2, Reels 2 and 4 respectively (better described as reels 7 and 9).
