Casson is interviewed at his home in Toronto by long-time friend and fellow artist Alan Collier. Casson describes his work in World War II projects in which he redesigned the provincial coats-of-arms for the Secretary of State and translated paintings of Tom Thomson and the Group of Seven so that silkscreen prints could be sent to Canadian regiments overseas. He relates his experiences on a sketching trip to Camp Borden in order to produce canvases for the National Gallery's War Records. Other topics discussed include: Casson's conscious decision to paint small town, turn-of-the-century Ontario, commissioned murals done for the Ontario Legislature and Royal York Hotel in Toronto, his involvement as chairman of various committees at the Art Gallery of Ontario, private collectors of Canadian painting including Vincent Massey, Charles Band and J.S.
