Casson is interviewed at his home in Toronto by long-time friend and fellow artist Alan Collier on the occasion of his 73rd birthday. The beginning of the interview concerns an honorary doctorate received by Casson from the University of Saskatoon. Casson recalls the convocation ceremonies and his chat with former Prime Minister John G. Diefenbaker. Casson continues with anecdotes from his period at Rous & Mann, his 1918 piano recital, art classes with Bill Beattie, early sketching trips in Ontario, painters Hebert Palmer and Lawren Harris.
