Casson is interviewed at his home in Toronto by long-time friend and fellow painter Alan Collier about the period Casson spent working for the Rous & Mann art studio in the early 1920s. Topics discussed include: his first sketching trip and the advice of painter Frank Carmichael; membership in the Arts & Letters Club and first contact with the Group of Seven; his first show aided by painter J.E.H. MacDonald; a collaborative mural done for the Arts & Letters Club, membership in the Graphic Arts Club. Casson describes his duties as Carmichael's assistant at Rous & Mann and comments on various colleagues in the art department including Stanley Turner, Art Keelor, Alec Panton and Bob Moholland.
