This portrait miniature was painted by Charles Hayter (1761-1835). Although the name used in the description of the textual material is Francis Robert Foote, the portrait miniature is of Richard Frances Foote, according to an inscription on it, which is not contemporary to the work. The biographical description of both works does match however, establishing that the subject of the textual material, and the portrait is the same man.

Hayter, Charles, 1761-1835 : Charles Hayter (1761-1835) was born at Twickenham, England and studied at the Royal Academy schools. He was a portrait painter in crayons and miniature. He exhibited at the Royal Academy and elsewhere from 1786 to 1832. In 1778 he married Martha Stenson (1762-1805). The couple had three children: Sir George Hayter, Anne Hayter and John Hayter who were artists as well.
