Collection includes one portrait miniature of Gabriel-Elzéar Taschereau (1745-1809) Judge of the Court of Common Pleas in Montreal and respresentative in the Legislative Assembly for Lower Canada and in 1798 a member of the Legislative Council by an unknown artist. Prior to his death he held high offices in Quebec, including that of Deputy Postmaster-General of the province in 1802. There is also a study of the Virgin by Napoléon Bourassa, and a portrait of Mr. Moreau by an unknown artist. Photographic material consists of: issues of S. McLaughlin's The Photographic Portfolio: A Monthly View of Canadian Scenes and Scenery published by Middleton and Dawson, Quebec City, Quebec; scenes of Quebec City, Quebec, some taken in winter; views of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, ca. 1880, by Cyrus Lewis; cartes-de-visite by Livernois, Brady, and Gabriel Blaise; unidentified cabinet portraits by Montminy and Plante.
