Accession consists of files of textual records and films documenting the union's activities in the area of labour education.

Accession consist of materials for courses offered to CWC stewards, officers, and other members, on such topics as grievance procedure, technological change, pre-retirement, steward training, local officer training, women's issues, and political action; materials for a 1986 CWC course for clerical workers represented by the Bell Canada employee association, the Canadian Telephone Employees Association, who were interested in joining the CWC; files on the Working Classes Rank and File Education Campaign, 1987-1989, directed at the union's Industrial Sector membership; files on the CWC Industrial Sector's participation, 1983-1991, in the Joint Human Resources Committee/Sectoral Skills Council of the Canadian Electrical and Electronics Manufacturing Industry (a tripartite organization concerned with industrial training in the electrical and electronic manufacturing industry); and files on related educational issues such as the union's Grassroots Campaign of 1986 and its campaigns against the GST and deregulation of the telephone industry.

Part of accession consisting of motion pictures about various aspects of unions and the workplace, pertaining to such issues as women in the workplace, the history of the trade union movement in Canada, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers. Also included are films made in the United States and used in Canada for educational purposes.

The AV material in this series consists of films and documentaries including: "Yes We Can" (1984, sponsored by the Canadian Union of Public Employees) about women in the workplace, in which shop stewards and union members discuss the problems and issues facing female workers; "Good Monday Morning" (1983, by the National Union of Provincial Government Employees) which aims to encourage female union members to stand up for their rights through arbitration or going on strike; "The Way We Work : First Steps" (1985, part of the Canadian Labour Congress Educational Services), a historical and contemporary analysis and examination of the trade union movement in Canada; and "The Struggle Continues" (1979, sponsored by the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) Education Department) about strikes and other CUPW activities in the 1960s and 1970s.

Audio-visual material also includes: "Why We Boycott" (1973) about the United Farm Workers of America, the Teamsters union, growers, and the work of Cesar Chavez; "On This We Stand" (1954, sponsored by the International Union of Electrical Workers / IUE) about negotiations between the IUE and General Electric workers; "Local 301" (1946), a film about labour negotiations with workers at General Electric Local 301, the largest General Electric plant, in Schenectady, New York; "The New Horizons (We Seek)" (1954, sponsored by the Congress of Industrial Organizations (CIO) and the IUE) which outlines an 11-point program for workers; and "Cast Me Not Off" (1954), a film about social programs and the views of U.S. politicians and labour unions about social programs.
