Canada. Ministry of State, Science and Technology. Government Branch : The Government Branch was one of three new branches created following a significant reorganization of Ministry of State for Science and Technology (MOSST) in 1975. The branch had responsibility for all projects having a direct impact upon government policy and government activities in science and technology. The large research and development program carried out by various departments necessitated a review process which covered policy and current operations. This review process undertaken by the Government Branch ensured that national and government objectives were met. The branch consisted of three divisions: Government Projects Division, Program Review and Assessment Division, and International Division. Headed by an assistant secretary, the structure of the Government Branch remained relatively stable until it was dissolved in 1983. Organization of the Government of Canada, 1978/79, p.426
