Canada Employment Centre (Lethbridge, Alta.) : The Lethbridge Canada Employment Centre (CEC) reported to the Alberta/Northwest Territories Regional Office located in Edmonton. While smaller CECs were staffed with a basic unit of 4 to 10 councillors, the larger CECs were staffed with enough employees to provide a complete range of manpower services and programs to their individual areas and also to provide support, when necessary, to neighbouring smaller centres. The CEC councillor's role was to solicit and register job vacancies and to interview, counsel, test, and refer clients to training or employment programs. Councillors also compiled and exchanged information on manpower demand and supply and identified labour market trends, based on knowledge of the area.
