Fonds consists of postal history material and philatelic memorabilia.

The postal history material includes five photographs of exterior views of post offices in Ontario, taken by Ken Johnson. Post offices depicted include Bath, Bloomfield, and Picton.

The philatelic memorabilia are representative samples showing the breadth of Mr. Johnson's collecting interests. Included are: St. Valentine's Day commemorative postcards, a commemorative photo-postcard depicting Laurentide Air Service pilot Romeo Vachon (ca. 1920), intact panes of Canada Post issued "medicine - urgent" adhesive parcel labels, a postal cover commemorating the 1982 Canadian Mount Everest Expedition, a commercial offset print of a Bellanca C.H. 300 pacemaker (painted by R.W. Bradford), a Destination Canada '85 Ottawa-Hull hot air balloon commemorative postal cover, an official first day of issue postal cover for the Air Canada 50th anniversary, and several aerophilatelic commemorative event cards.

Johnson, Ken R : Ken R. Johnson was previously active in philately and postal history as the Curator, Philatelic Collections, National Postal Museum (Canada Post Corporation, 1985-1988) and Archivist (National Philatelic Collection) at the National Archives of Canada (NA, 1988-1994). An archivist with the National Archives, his portfolio includes RG3, the Post Office Department (now Canada Post Corporation), amongst others. Correspondence with donor. (See descriptive file.)
