Canadian National Railways (France) : Canadian National Railways (France) was initially incorporated on 29 December 1923 under the laws of France as Société Immobilière de la Rue Scribe. The Canadian National Railway Company wished to open a traffic agency and office in France and acquired property on the corner of Boulevard des Capucines and Rue Scribe in Paris. The new company was formed to own and operate the property, including the traffic agency and the Hotel Scribe as a wholly owned subsidiary of the Canadian National Railway Company. On 24 December 1924 the name of the company was changed to Canadian National Railways (France). From 20 December 1924 the property was leased to Société des Hôtels Réunis with provision for space to be available for the traffic agency. The lease has been renegotiated several times.
