Montfort and Gatineau Colonization Railway Company : The Montfort Colonization Railway Company was incorporated under Quebec Act, 53 Vic., Cap. 107 of 2 April 1890 to build a railway into the Laurentian highlands north of Lachute. A 35.3 mile line from Old Montfort Junction on the Great Northern Railway North to Huberdeau was constructed between 1895 and 1897. On 13 June 1898 the name was changed to Montfort and Gatineau Colonization Railway Company. The company eventually became bankrupt and on 10 February 1903 its property was purchased by the Great Northern Railway of Canada. RG30 General Inventory
