Minnesota and Manitoba Railroad Company : The Minnesota and Manitoba Railroad Company was incorporated on 12 April 1899 under the laws of the State of Minnesota for the purpose of building a railway through Minnesota, south of Lake of the Woods, in order to connect the Canadian Northern's prairie system via the Manitoba and South Eastern Railway with its line to the lakehead at Port Arthur, the Ontario and Rainy River Railway. This 43.69 mile line was completed by December 1900. Mackenzie and Mann transferred ownership to the Canadian Northern Railway in 1914. The company now exists as a wholly owned subsidiary of Canadian National Railways. RG30 General Inventory
