Missisquoi and Black Rivers Valley Railway Company : The Missisquoi and Black Rivers Valley Railway Company was incorporated in 1870 under Quebec Act, 34 Vic., Cap. 26 to build from the Vermont/Quebec boundary at Potton, Quebec, to Richmond, Quebec, on the Grand Trunk Railway, a distance of approximately 57 miles. Some ten miles were constructed, from Potton to Bolton, Quebec, which by 1879 were worked by the Waterloo and Magog Railway Company. In 1881 the name of the company was changed to the Missisquoi Valley Railway Company. In 1888 under Dominion Act, 51 Vic., Cap. 54 it was granted the authority to amalgamate with the Stanstead, Shefford and Chambly Railway Company. Both the fate of the property and whether the amalgamation took place is uncertain. RG30 General Inventory
