Canada Atlantic Transit Company : The Canada Atlantic Transit Company, owned and operated by Canada Atlantic Railway Company, was incorporated under Dominion Act, 61 Vic., Cap. 95 of 13 June 1898 to operate a shipping line between Depot Harbor, Ontario and Fort William, Ontario, and to operate this line in conjunction with Canada Atlantic Transit Company of United States.

The Company owned the Ships SS Newond and SS Ottawa but both were sold prior to the Grand Trunk acquisition in 1904. The SS Ottawa was repurchased from J.R. Booth and operated from 1905 to 1909. In 1923 the Canadian National assumed control from the Grand Trunk. The SS Canatco was owned and operated from 1926 to 1942 and the SS Delwarnic from 1926 to 1946. No services were operated after World War II, and the Charter of the Canada Atlantic Transit Company was allowed to lapse in 1950. RG30 General Inventory
