Skin, blood/lymph, transplants, auto-immune disease, diabetes and allergies are explored. Dynamic computer-generated animation assists in clarifying our understanding and shows the pivotal importance of the immune system to health across the lifespan.~Part 2 of 3: SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES AND AIDS: The AIDS health crisis is one of the most significant social issues in modern history. In this programme, we focus on viruses and bacteria that challenge the immune system and are spread by sexual contact. Highlights include interviews with Dr. Robert Gallo, co-discoverer of the HIV virus; Dr. Mike O'Shaughnessy of the Federal Centre for AIDS; a woman whose husband died of an AIDS-related illness and a man living with AIDS, and the effects on their lives.~Part 3 of 3: THE MIND/BODY/SPIRIT CONNECTION: The focus of this programme is the interdependence of the human brain and emotions on the immune system. Included are Dr. Phil Gold talking about cancer; Norman Cousins and Dr. George Solomon discussing Psychoneuroimmunology; Dr. Lucille Peszat on stress and the immune system; Dr. Harvey Moldofsky on the effects of sleep deprivation and the immune system. <78mn>
