Wellington, Grey and Bruce Railway Co : The Wellington, Grey and Bruce Railway Company was incorporated in June 1854 (Statutes of Canada, 27-28 Vic., Cap. 93) to build a railway from Guelph to Southampton with a branch to Owen Sound. Lines totaling 168.06 miles between Guelph and Southampton and from Palmeston to Kincardine were opened to traffic between 1870 and 1874. These lines were immediately leased to the Great Western, and passed with it to the Grand Trunk. In 1893 the Wellington, Grey and Bruce Railway Company amalgamated with and took the name of the Grand Trunk Railway Company of Canada. RG30 General Inventory
