Sub-series consists of records created and maintained by the Grand Trunk Pacific Development Company, Limited and includes minutes, 1906-1926, stock records, 1906-1934, contract, deed and agreement registers, 1903-1942, town site sales and balances, 1913-1924, payrolls, 1909-1916, and fiscal records, 1907-1933.

Cartographic material consists of one bound portfolio of 45 blueprints of townsites arranged alphabetically from Benson, Sask. to Willow Creek, B.C. showing real estate lots held and sold by this company. Each blueprint has a colour coded key indicating the financial transaction status of the lots. This information was added 1 Oct. 1920.

Additional cartographic material (located in volume 12938) consists of 193 plans of townsites located in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Northwestern Ontario, Alberta, and and British Columbia. These include locations such as Winnipeg, Regina, Rivers, Biggar, Fort William, Port Arthur, Fraser Lake, Smithers, and Prince Rupert. These plans date from 1917 to 1921.

Grand Trunk Pacific Development Company : The Grand Trunk Pacific Development Company, Limited was incorporated on 3 August 1906 with the name the Grand Trunk Pacific Town and Development Company Limited under Dominion Letters Patent. On 8 November 1906 it was organized as a holding company for land acquired along the railway for homesteads, town sites and industries and for the operation of all facilities other than transport. In 14 January 1910 the name was changed to the Grand Trunk Pacific Development Company, Limited.

The Company acquired or constructed the following properties: Prince Rupert Dry Dock and Shipyard a dock at Victoria, a dock at Vancouver, the Fort Garry Hotel in Winnipeg, the Macdonald Hotel in Edmonton, a site for a proposed hotel in Victoria, a site for a proposed hotel in Prince Rupert and miscellaneous physical property valued in 1937 at 05,536.35.

By 11 June 1956 all properties and assets had been sold or transferred to one of the Canadian National Railways companies. On that date the company amalgamated with sixteen other companies under the name Canadian National Railway Company. RG30 General Inventory
